Meet the Founder

Founded by Jen Ahlsten, a brand strategist and designer with a background in marketing and fine art, Vitruviani applies the discipline of luxury branding to plastic surgery marketing. Ahlsten’s work addresses the disconnect between the standard of care surgeons deliver and the way their practices are presented to prospective patients.

Her exploratory study investigated how potential plastic surgery patients evaluate branded versus unbranded practice presentations. Forty participants rated matched clinics across five constructs: trust, professionalism, safety, intent to book, and willingness to pay a price premium. Branded presentations scored higher in every category. The largest differences appeared in trust (3.5 versus 2.8 on a five-point scale) and willingness to pay a price premium (3.1 versus 2.3). Her background is in marketing and fine art. She developed brand strategy and design across luxury consumer categories before founding Vitruviani. She’s also the author of Eminence: The New Standard for Plastic Surgery Marketing.
